Snorkel Blast Guard

Add a layer of virus protection your dives by keeping your spit to yourself and away from your buddies. In this time of COVID, wearing masks and social distancing has become mandatory to keep microdroplets in our breath from contaminating each other.

During freediving, transmission is possible through the spit carried when clearing your snorkel. Being freedivers, you must have your own trusty J type snorkel which was recommended from the course. Having an open snorkel is efficient, but with keeping yourself and your spit distant fom other divers, you have to be mindful of where your snorkel blast travels. You have the added burden of being aware where your snorkel is pointing at, cover the end of your snorkel if you are clearing, or avoid blasting when possible - resort to draining through the mouthpiece. Sometimes this isn't as easy if your mind is focused on something more important.

The snorkel blast guard attaches to the end of your snorkel to minimize the area of your blast to keep it away from your dive buddies. This way you can keep your attention to your freediving and less about your snorkel. Since this is a cover to your snorkel, you might feel a slight constriction when breathing with it attached.

Find the size of the blast guard which can be fit snugly to the end of your snorkel. It can leave a dent on your snorkel depending on the material.
